Rockstar’s installation-requirements page says GTA VI can require up to 212 GB of available space, depending on the device. Treat that as an upper-bound preparation figure, not a promise that every console download has exactly that size.

Check before download day

Our suggestion: open your console’s storage settings now and see how much room is available. If you need to remove something, choose files you can recover and check whether saved data is stored separately before making changes.

Leave the final number to your device

Follow the actual installer and platform guidance once the download is available. Installation space, the amount transferred over the network and the size of a later update are different measurements. We are not substituting one figure for all three.

Put the preparations together

After checking storage, use our preload guide for the PS5 or Xbox schedule. If you are buying a box, the physical-edition guide explains why to read the format description before checkout.
