Keep a copy of your local data

Your data belongs to this website address in this browser profile. There is no sign-in or cloud sync in this release. Changing the address, browser profile or device does not move your data.

Progress backup: choose Export backup to keep Map Found and preserved legacy progress. The file keeps these two sets separate and does not include My pins.

Private backup: under My pins backup, choose Export My pins…, read the privacy notice, then choose Download My pins backup. This separate file contains saved private titles, notes, visited states and map coordinates. Unsaved edits are not included. Exporting does not upload or publish your notes.

Check your browser's downloads and keep the files somewhere you can find them. Last export records an export request; it cannot confirm that you kept the file.

To restore: choose a file under Restore from a backup. Review its scope, date and counts before continuing. A progress backup replaces Map Found and preserved legacy progress; a My pins backup replaces only My pins. Nothing is merged. An empty backup clears its scope after you confirm. Choose Cancel before the final replacement to stop without importing data.

If something fails: follow the message beside the file or replacement controls. An invalid file or failed replacement does not replace saved data. Keep the original backup and choose another supported file, or use the offered replacement action to try again.

If browser storage is blocked, allow site storage. If it is full, free space without clearing this site's data, then try again. Keep any available backups before reloading this same address. Reset is not a repair for blocked storage. If saved progress could not be read, a new export cannot recover the unreadable marks. For unreadable My pins, open Manage My pins; its Download recovery copy is raw text, not a validated backup, and may contain private notes.
